Art Opening Honoring Enedina Vasquez

January 30 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Join us as we proudly honor the life and legacy of Enedina Vasquez, a San Antonio Westside native and celebrated poet, playwright, and visual artist.

Enedina’s powerful work has been recognized nationally. Her Día de los Muertos Altar exhibit was featured in Chicano Now: American Expressions, a prestigious traveling exhibition sponsored by Cheech Marín, the Smithsonian Institution, and Target Stores. Beginning in 2001, the exhibit toured major cities across the country for five years. In 2003, Enedina was also selected to paint two basketballs for the San Antonio Spurs’ Tim Duncan Art Ball Program, further cementing her impact on art and culture.

On Friday, January 30th at 6:00 PM, we invite you to Basila Frocks to celebrate Enedina Vasquez with a special art opening featuring a series of her paintings, nichos, and other meaningful art installations.

The exhibit will remain on display throughout the month of February.

Come experience the artistry, history, and cultural contributions of a remarkable Westside artist whose work continues to inspire our community.
